About me
I'm Jordan Swallow (he/him), one of the coolest cucumbers on this side of Orion's Belt.
My passion is in solving problems in my life and in those around me. I like to think outside the box, often taking the road less travelled to end up where I never knew I wanted to go. At my core, I'm a creative, fun guy with strength for empathizing and an insatiable love for space and the abstract.
I started in 3D animation, then went on to work in video editing and production and eventually down the path of UX and multimedia design. In my free time I like to partake in my seemingly endless list of hobbies such as creating 3D-printed solutions to common problems as well as unique, never-before-tried solutions to highly uncommon problems.
Influences
Science fiction (Star Trek, Star Wars, The Matrix, Starcraft, Alien)
Fantasy (The Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, Willow, Jumanji)
Anime (Cowboy Bebop, One Piece, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, My Hero Academia)
Comedy (Monty Python, The Simpsons, The Office, Parks and Rec, Shrek)
Science fiction has always been the leading influence in my life ever since I was a child. Star Trek and Star Wars in particular have always managed to captivate me and press my imagination beyond what is possible. The human optimism of Star Trek has always driven me to be a more ethical and empathetic person as well as shaped how I perceive the world. A better, utopian future is out there, just waiting for us to reach up to the stars and grab it. Fantasy such as Lord of the Rings teaches me the worlds that can exist inside our imaginations when we let them run free. Anime can have beautiful worlds, intense action, wholesome friendships, and devastating heartbreaks. Comedy taught me it's not only essential to laugh but how important and meaningful it can be to make other people laugh.
